The high demand for network equipment leveraged Datacom's results, with the supply to the markets of Internet access providers and telecommunications operators.
According to Antônio Carlos T. Porto, CEO of Datacom, “remote services and work require better quality broadband and connectivity, both in the corporate market and in homes, and have had a positive impact on our business,” he said. The company achieved growth of 15.4% in net revenue in reais and 19.6% in profitability on sales, results boosted, according to Porto, mainly by demand from Internet access providers: Datacom gains from demand from ISPs . "We launched specific products for this market at more affordable prices, which allowed for a considerable increase in sales", commented the executive.
Manufacturer of switches, routers and Gpon systems, Datacom was created in 1998 in Porto Alegre, currently with an administrative and manufacturing unit in Eldorado do Sul (RS). “We invest in specialized teams and work with dozens of developers acting directly in the creation of new products”, he said. Datacom produces solutions for access backbones with lines that include metro ethernet switches, Gpon, multiservice access platforms, in addition to offering design, implementation, training and support services. “Our strategy is one of constant innovation to meet demands such as the 5G network and new systems for Internet access providers”, guarantees Porto. The company is attentive to the demands of the new network, which is already in place in all the capitals of the country and has started the movement towards interiorization, in addition to monitoring the consolidation of access providers. “The networks are in constant growth and improvement, requiring new functionalities and training of the teams to serve these markets”, he says.
Another business opportunity is data center products for real-time applications, virtualization, mobility and energy efficiency, requiring network architectures prepared for these demands. For this market, Datacom offers the DM4100 family, with models of 48 Gigabit ports and 10G uplinks in stacked mode, with scalability and security for top of the rack (ToR). It also offers the solution in Chassis DM4000 that acts as a 10G aggregator. In addition to products, Datacom offers logical network designs to meet varying access demands and maximize resource usage. Committed to the environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda, Datacom, according to the CEO, has its environmental management system certified with ISO 14,000 and the health and safety management system with ISO 45,000 : “We have been improving governance and compliance mechanisms in accordance with ESG best practices for several years”. He informed.
Increased concern about security, ESG and adaptation to the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) among customers are new business opportunities for Datacom. “The plans for 2023 include expanding its presence in the corporate market, with communication solutions with switches and routers and services”, concluded Porto.
