Last September 15, Datacom received the visit of the Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation - MCTI, Paulo Alvim. On the occasion, the signing ceremony of the Protocol of Intent (MOU) took place, signed between the MCTI and P&D Brasil – Association of National Technological Development and Innovation Companies, an entity that Datacom has been associated with since its foundation.
The MOU is intended to encourage national technological development, increase the competitiveness of national technology-based companies, their internationalization and innovation in the country. The Protocol was published in issue 69, section 3, of the Official Gazette of the Union. This is the first Memorandum of Understanding that the MCTI signs with a sector entity.
The strategic objectives assumed in the Memorandum of Understanding are: 1. The construction of indicators of the Information and Communication Technology Policy – ICT; 2. Creation of the National Technology Seal; 3. Creation of the Technology Demonstration Environment; 4. The Development of a Platform for Disclosure of Technology Solutions and National Production; 5. The international insertion; 6. Support for the training of human resources; 7. Carrying out a study and 8. Carrying out an event to promote the national technological development environment.
Accompanying the delegation of the Minister of State, the Secretary of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, José Gontijo, the Director of the Department of Innovative Entrepreneurship, Marcos Cesar and the Director of the Department for the Promotion of Science, Technology and Innovation, Daniel Lavouras.
Board members from P&D Brasil and businesspeople from the sector were present at the ceremony, including the Chairman of the Deliberative Council, Marcelo Andrade, the Chairman of the Superior Council, Antônio Carlos T. Porto and CEO of Datacom, the Executive President, Rosilda Prates, the executives of the associated companies ALIGERA, CPQD, DIGICON, DIGISTAR, HT MICRON, IMS, PERTO, PARKS the Research Institutes (ICTs) allied to R&D Brazil, ELDORADO, INATEL, LABELO PUC-RS, SOFTSUL, INTERNET SUL, through President Alexandro Schuck , in addition to the presence of professor Geraldo Pereira Jotz, pro-rector of Innovation and Institutional Relations at UFRGS and representatives of FIERGS.
Before the official ceremony, Minister Paulo Alvin and his entourage, accompanied by Datacom's CEO, Antônio Carlos T. Porto, took part in a visit to Datacom's facilities, especially the manufacturing unit and the Research and Development (R&D) area.
