Datacom, an industry that develops and produces network equipment, mainly switches, routers and equipment for GPON networks, with 24 years in the market, stood out as one of the ten companies in the sector that achieved the highest profitability in 2021, according to Anuário Telecom 2022. The data collected under the supervision of Fundação Getúlio Vargas are part of the 32nd anniversary edition of the Yearbook, which analyzes the economic and financial performance of all telecom companies in Brazil and lists the largest in terms of net revenue growth.
CEO Antonio Carlos T. Pôrto, representing the board, board and the entire Datacom team, was the one who received the award, in a ceremony that brought together the 100 largest companies classified in the Telecom Yearbook 2022. Pôrto spoke of the editorial importance of the award and the recognition of Datacom :
“I would like to thank Editorial Form for the award on behalf of the entire Datacom team. We are a company that develops and produces network equipment, mainly switches, routers and equipment for GPON networks. Among its customers are the main telecom operators, in addition to thousands of internet provider companies (ISPs) across the country. This recognition, as the Best Profitability Company in 2021, in the difficult year of 2021, when we were experiencing an absurd supply crisis for semiconductors and electronic components, was a great challenge. But I would like to say that this award is the recognition that developing technology in Brazil is possible and can produce results, which is very important for us, who for 24 years have been operating as the largest industry in the development of telecom products”, he concluded.
Every year, since 1991, Anuário Telecom analyzes the economic and financial performance of companies operating in the Brazilian telecommunications market. The Yearbook publishes the ranking of the 100 largest telecom companies in the country and the ranking of fixed and mobile telephony operators, according to their net revenue; chooses the Highlight companies of the Year in each of the segments that make up the Brazilian telecom market; and elects the Company of the Year. All data are analyzed by the team that produces the AnuárioTelecom, under the supervision of professors from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in São Paulo.
