The expansion of the networks of Internet Providers (ISPs) has increased the demand for equipment that has a large number of access interfaces, but that remains compact and cost-effective. With this scenario in mind, Datacom has developed and is launching the DM4618 modular OLT on the market.
The DM4618 model has 32 fixed GPON ports and an expansion slot that allows you to equip it with 32 more GPON ports on a Line Card. Supporting a Split ratio of 1:128, it can support up to 8,192 subscribers.
The OLT is wirespeed non-blocking, that is, it performs all the processing in hardware and does not have uplink bottlenecks since the OLT DM4618 has two 100GbE ports (QSFP28) and four 25/10GbE ports on SFP28/SFP+, thus allowing to all traffic to and from the GPON interfaces.
In terms of software, the DM4618 comes with the DmOS operating system, with support from version 8.0 onwards. For more details on OLT functionality, see the DmOS datasheet.
On the front of the OLT DM4618 we have the out-of-band management (MGMT), console and alarm interfaces, the 32 GPON interfaces, the uplink interfaces and the Line Card slot.
On the rear panel are the 3 slots for FAN and the two slots for AC or DC sources, which work in redundancy and support hot-swap.

Like all other Datacom OLTs, the DM4618 complies with the ITU-T G.984 standard and does not provide blocking to ONUs from other manufacturers (We recommend prior testing, as we cannot guarantee the implementation of the standard by the third party. Our team of support is available for any compatibility tests).
The DM4618 supports the most varied types of applications, such as the delivery of Triple Play services (voice, data and video), IoT - Internet of Things/Digital Cities, and the realization of LAN networks with GPON (POL - Passive Optical) technology. LAN).
The DM4618 OLT enters the GPON product portfolio to bring more options to the various scenarios of our customers, a portfolio that already had 5 other OLT models: DM4611 4GPON, DM4612 8GPON, DM4610 4GPON, DM4610 8GPON, DM4615 16GPON.
