Characteristics

Wire Speed

The DM-S400 switch provides a switching capacity of 912 Gbit/s, with all packet processing implemented in hardware at wire-speed, ensuring the forwarding of all packets without traffic blocking. Filtering functions are also executed in hardware, with no impact on CPU performance or on packet forwarding.

 

Interfaces


The DM-S400 provides flexible connectivity with 10GE optical interfaces, enabling access at multiple speeds (10GE/2.5GE/1GE) and high-capacity uplinks through 10GE/25GE/40GE ports, fully meeting aggregation and high-density requirements.


With robust switching capacity and advanced features, the switch is ideal for the aggregation layer in large networks or as the core of small and medium-sized networks, ensuring high speed, security, and intelligence.

Management Facilities

The switches can be configured via the DmCloud cloud management platform. A CLI configuration interface with syntax assistance is available, accessible through SSH, Telnet, and RS-232 Console. An internal Web Server and SNMP agent are also available.

Security

To ensure network security, the switches allow the creation of a reliable management structure through RADIUS authentication. They also support protection against Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks and port and MAC address authentication according to the IEEE 802.1X standard. Additionally, they include protection mechanisms against broadcast and multicast attacks.

 

Switching Features

The DM-S400 switches support a wide range of advanced features, such as VLAN configuration, QinQ, Link Aggregation, and network protection and redundancy protocols including Spanning Tree (STP, RSTP, MSTP, and ERPS).


For multicast, the switches support IGMPv1/v2/v3, PIM-DM/SM/SSM, and MLDv1/v2 functionalities.

 

Routing

Static and dynamic IPv4 and IPv6 routing features are available, with support for advanced dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, and ECMP.

 

Stacking

To expand capacity, DM-S400 switches can operate in a stack of up to two units through the uplink ports. The stack is viewed by the management interfaces as a single switch and is managed through a single IP address.
