The DM4780 Switch provides high switching capacity to meet the growing demands for IP traffic aggregation in access and Metro Ethernet aggregation networks, high-capacity corporate networks, and server and network aggregation in Datacenters, always delivering high performance and reliability. The DM4780 16CX+8DX model features 8 100GE ports, 8 200GE ports, and 8 400GE ports in order to adapt to different applications and demands of communication networks.
Based on the DmOS network operating system, the DM4780 switch ensures robustness and high service availability on a platform that supports a wide range of L2, L3, and MPLS features. Among these are support for VLAN operations such as QinQ and VLAN Translate, LAG/LACP, ring operation through the EAPS or ERPS protocol, support for RSTP, static and dynamic IP routing protocols through OSPF and BGP, filters for creating access policies (ACL), QoS functionalities, among others. MPLS transport and aggregation functionalities are also supported through LDP/LSR for the creation of point-to-point (VPWS) and point-to-multipoint (VPLS) services, as well as IP services through L3VPNs. All L2, L3, and MPLS packet forwarding, filter application, and QoS policy enforcement are performed in hardware, ensuring wirespeed operation.
All L2, L3 and MPLS packet forwarding, application of filters and QoS policies are done in HW, ensuring wirespeed operation.
The product offers configuration via command line (CLI) accessible via SSHv2, Telnet and RS-232 or USB console port. Functionalities of RADIUS and TACACS allow the creation of authentication and authorization policies for user access. Local and remote Syslog features, NTP clients, and SNMP are also available to allow remote management and troubleshooting of equipment.
DM4780 switches are 1U high equipment ready for installation in standard 19-inch racks. They have power redundancy through two hot-swap slots for AC or DC power supplies, ensuring that the requirements of high-availability applications and services are met.
