LAN Switches

The DATACOM DM1205E switching line offers Stackable Gigabit Ethernet wire speed solution to meet the increasing demand in enterprise network applications due to its 10Gbps uplink. It has full L2+ functionalities and static routing. Formed by different fixed configuration models for 19" rack installation, it allows the deployment of low cost networks with high traffic capacity.

Characteristics

Wire Speed

The switches have switching capacity ranging from 128Gbit/s to 176Gbit/s with all packet processing implemented in hardware, at wire-speed, ensuring the switching of all packets without blocking traffic. Filter functionalities are also performed in hardware, with no impact on CPU performance or packet forwarding.

Management Facilities

The switches in the line have a CLI configuration interface with automatic syntax assistance, accessible via SSH, Telnet and RS-232 Console. Internal Web Server and SNMP agent are also available. To facilitate firmware version and configuration management, it is possible to store two different firmware versions and two different configurations simultaneously in the equipment's memory.

Security

To ensure network security, switches allow the creation of a reliable management structure through authentication via RADIUS. It also supports protection against Denial of Service (DoS/DDoS) attacks and port and MAC Address authentication in accordance with IEEE802.1x. It has protection mechanisms against broadcast and multicast attacks.

Switching Features

The DM1205E switches support a series of advanced features, such as simultaneous VLAN configuration, Link Aggregation and Spanning Tree network redundancy and protection protocol (STP, MSTP and RSTP), EAPS and ERPS. For Multicast, IGMP Snooping and MLD Snooping functionalities are supported.

For network optimization, the switches have 8 CoS queues per port with traffic classification by IEEE802.1p and multiple matches using ACLs, allowing bandwidth limitation and traffic shaping.

Routing

Static IPv4 and IPv6 routing features are available, allowing the switch to be used as a switch router. 420 IPv4 routes and 100 IPv6 routes are supported in the routing table, making it possible to use it in applications to migrate networks from IPv4 to IPv6 in Dual Stack format.

ACLs

DM1205 has the facility to create up to 512 filters (ACLs) that operate in hardware, allowing the configuration of various actions, such as: discarding packets, rescheduling QoS priorities, among others.

Power over Ethernet

The DM1205E 24GP+4XS and DM1205E 48GP+4XS models follow the IEEE 802.3at standard and provide 24 and 48 PoE+ ports respectively, limited to an instantaneous power consumption of 370W (24GP) and 740W (48GP), making it possible to transmit power and data over the same Cat.5e or Cat.6 cable. This application is recommended for powering and connecting equipment such as Access Points, IP phones and IP cameras.
